I live near the seller....worth a look? Average British maker?

6.9lbs. may be a stretch though, considering the 30" barrels?

As a salesman at one of our local used gun shops asked me, "What does NEED have to do with it?" I decided, even though the question was a rhetorical one, that he made a good point.

Hi Mark, when I saw the original posting and realized it was in Canada, I went to take a look. Got stopped on my registration because "Canvasback" is taken on that forum, so I had to think up a new moniker. Now thinking up the new one isn't hard, it's thinking up one I will remember that is the problem. All this is a long way to say, thanks for posting the pics.

My pleasure James, it is posted on CGN as well.

When will I see you for a round of sporting clays? I have a few recent acquisitions that I'm sure you would enjoy seeing.

Well, that's an offer that is hard to refuse, Mark. Give me until early May. I'm swamped at work right now. Then I can plan a day up your way and hopefully bring a couple to show you as well. That Midland looks pretty great for original. Not for me at the moment but it will make someone happy.

Dal, I have a Midland - love it, but it's not a hammer gun - sure like the look of the one you have pictured - like others have said, "need" has nothing to do with it - I'd grab that in a heartbeat.

Meh: It's only got steel barrels...

That underlever damascus single, on the other hand, looks very interesting...
