There is, in fact, an actual example of a double barrel cannon sitting on the courthouse square in Athens, GA. It was made there in a local foundry sometime during the War of Northern Agression for the purpose of bagging yankees. It was apparently a bad idea, as no other examples were ever manufactured; but it is an interesting piece of Americana nonetheless.
