Usually a month or so.

Understand they are done by a person who essentially volunteering their time. So, he might have more pressing things to do (earn a living, eat, sleep) on a given day.

Claudio, if the name of the original purchaser is in the records, it will be part of the letter. Order book entries that give such information end in the mid 180,000 range in 1919. Some few Remington era IBM cards give original purchaser information, but not many. Good luck with your search. Bill Murphy

CJ,

You might also check the list of Parker shotguns sold by Abercrombie & Fitch. The A&F records exist for the period 1929 to 1977 and are available through the Griffin & Howe research project. There are more than 3800 Parker serial numbers listed and the buyer is almost always in the records. Here is a direct link.

Bob might have neglected to mention that he IS the Griffin&Howe research project. He did a great job for me and went to Sherlockian effort in locating the records on a Webley&Scott model 700 16ga. which was imported by A&F back in the 60's. The information is well worth the small fee...Geo
