Lightning hole drilled in buttstock, lightning forearm was slimmer and shorter, small milling cuts to the frame, barrels on lightning had thinner walls and a higher nickel content for strength. All out of Schwing. 8 oz lighter for 26 1/2" and 10 oz for 28" barrels.

Bobby; I've got a 20b w 28" barrels that weighs 6 lb 4 oz on a cheap postal scale. All scales are not the same, but I think there were minor variations in these supers which were mass produced, but largely hand done. Great guns IMHO, esp the 20's. Demi block barrels. High quality for the $$.

The thin barrel part explains why Browning advises no steel in Belgian-made guns. Might be OK in a standard weight gun, but Browning probably decided to err on the side of caution.

My 28-inch barrel 20-gauge Superposed skeet guns in both standard and lightning have exactly the same length forearms. The only visible difference I can see is the thinner barrels. The Lightning weighs 6 pounds 9 ounces and the Standard weighs a fraction of an ounce over 7 pounds. The only difference I can see is the thinner barrels.

I quoted Schwing pretty much. There were clearly many variations in Superposed forearms, even though Researcher's guns are a match. Those old standard weight Supers look like excellent candidates for backboring if someone was just looking for a shooter, esp in 12 ga.
