The Haucks pictured are , from top, a single trigger 45-70, custom .222 rem. in the white. I will post a couple pics of it engraved and finished. And Roger Barlow's personal .219

Hammerback, thanks for the great pix and info!

Re PETA, I assume that the hawk pix are vintage (if not, say no more). When I was a kid in the 1950s and 60s, all hawks were shot on sight, no questions asked. It wasn't very sensible, but that was the rural culture.

If you're referring to the engraved woodchuck portrait, I would ask PETA gardeners/organic farmers to suffer a family of 'chucks in their gardens for just one week. It would be a life changing experience.... only critter I like less is the tomato horn worm!

Here is serial #2 and its original owner Elsie Sprague. This was Wilbur's first production gun. They were neighbors for years in Arlington VT. He stamped her initials on the inside edge of the reciver.
