I have in my file one (1) note about a 1903 Sedgley in caliber 405 WCF. The new owner of this rifle contacted me and is trying to trace this one back as far a possible. My note says the one was in Florida and that's were this one came from. I do not have any names in the database so I'm not much help.

Has anyone here seen this rifle before or know of another in caliber 405 WCF?

A10ACN, the action on this rifle is amazing. The bolt is extremely smooth and the loading and ejection are better than any other rifle I own. It is an internal magazine fed and not a single shot. It functions as you would expect a custom rifle to function. Flawlessly. Shoots amazing, once I sighted it in at 25 yards and figured out how to use the sights, the last group of 3 were all touching.

I am not sure, I was shooting groups of 3, so I did not try load more than that, next time I go to the range I will try to fully load her. But based on what I felt with the 3 loaded, I do not think it will get 4 and 1.

I have to wounder why they just did not make it a .400-Whelen instead of going to all the trouble for a rimmed cartridge.

Maybe the owner had other rifles in that caliber or had a lot of ammunition.

Commercial loaded, available ammo vs specialty, not widely known cartridge? Not knocking the 400 Whelen, just giving a reason.

3 and 1 is what I would expect. Be great if we could see what changes were made to the mag box to make it feed so well.
