it(obammacare) will at least double the cost for health care in the USA.you have to see their doctors at the hospital the obammacare tzar dictates.care will have to be rationed(depending on what stage cancer your neighbor has will determine care)just like in the U.K.at some point this will not allow the money needed for research or at least slow it down.and 35 to 40 million people will be uninsured.this is the amount of people that obammacare targeted for insuring, and the number for the argument to implement obammacare.go back to the old system, tort reform, competition across state lines.do not provide heath care for every illegal person who comes here.

....I extend civilities to everyone....
....I am a liberal, a minority here. I think of conservative as an euphemism for selfishness.... I thought you didn't demonize anyone, I thought it wasn't necessary and the facts would speak for themselves. Hey, have you heard, libs gravitate towards the ny times, though they appear on the surface to be well read. Why I believe just today they bashed the rich and heartless US for putting up some chump change, and three thousand military medical personnel. We should rise to the beacon cuba and send two hundred expendables off on vacation to be put up by the who. I want Canada to have great healthcare, not hope you won't need it. Any progress to report?

To say I think of conservative---clinging to old ways, cautious, reluctant to change---as euphemism of selfishness isn't demonizing anyone. It's a common frailty, as much in sports, business, church, professions, families as anywhere else.
In the case above I was referring to Clapper's solicitation of opinions of how the spongers should be treated publicly---to shun, glare at them etc. Part of the reason the US is currently ungovernable and unhappy is its declining sense of community.
It's now blaming the other. It's all "them and us." Every public issue is framed for partisan advantage, not the public interest. Canada's universal healthcare is a work in progress. Covering everyone, not tens of millions without because of cost.

king: well said...
sadly, we americans seem to need a major crisis, such as the civil war, the depression or ww2, to shake us up and bring us together in a common cause, with common goals.
meantime, we amuse ourselves down here pontificating about trivel issues, like politics and gun control.
keep it simple and keep it safe...

Sadly, I think you're wrong again. King still states there's something wrong with right of center and they're the cause of 'lack-o-governance'. Problem is, only the left is saying there's a lack of governance and it's directed disparagingly towards the right. The right can not do exec orders, appoint czars or bottle up legislation in the senate, so, they govern as they can. We already know what rahm told us to do with any crisis, and he's never been accused of being right wing. We also know how trivial and forgetable a crisis is when it involves this pres. Name a common cause or common goal, or are you referring to advancing left wing ideology.

I never realized that the Bill Of Rights was trivial. They're only trivial to Libards like those 3 Supreme Court bimbos appointed by Clinton and Obama. They're only trivial to someone demented enough to think he can legislate in this Country with a phone and a pen. To the vast majority here The U S Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the equivalent to being the secular Bible. Our ancestor's fought and died for these rights. Unfortunately it may become necessary to do so once again. Jim
The 2nd Amendment IS an unalienable right.

sxs:
- do you really believe the bill of rights is trivial to anyone who is or has served on the u.s. supreme court? could it be that because some members of the court have or held views of the bill of rights that may be different from yours that you demonize them and others you disagree with?
- please name one thing that any of our current elected leaders have done with pen and phone that could be considered as a violation of our bill of rights?
- and like the secular bible, the bill of rights means different things to different people. its called interpretation.
- which one of the bill of rights is being threatened at this moment that may cause us to go to war against our federal government?
the one thing that comes to mind is when the feds ignored the 10th amendment, when they invaded the sovereign state of virginia in july of 1861. that was a long time ago. we the people won that battle, but sadly, lost the terrible war that followed that first federal invasion of sovereign states.

Craig, dysfunction cuts every way in US governance. I'm expressing what two of three Americans tell pollsters: politicians are putting themselves before their country, a pox on all of them.
That's more than "only the left" critical of Washington's corrosive antics. The country's fed up with it. Yes, everyone knows of Reid's blocking and all the rest of it. Symptomatic of a sick country; disgusting to think of it.
Conservatives blame themselves for two losses by nominating squishy candidates McCain and Romney. Maybe a way to straighten it out is Ryan or Cruz and not another squish like Christie.
If they lose with Ryan or Cruz, they'll recalibrate. I don't expect any improvement in Washington or relief for the electorate until sight of the noose introduces Reason to all of them.
It's a degenerative drift from democracy which we go to war to introduce overseas while there's only remnants of it at home.
