I've been looking at a 9.3x72R that the rifling looks like a sewer pipe. Anyone know of an outfit that would reline it to 219 Zipper, 25-35, 30-30, 32 Special or 32-40?
Another thread had one relined to 222R.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Oskar, I would consider 5.6x50R, if I wanted to line a 9.3x72R.The smaller head diameter would make for a stronger liner w/o having to ream the old barrel so thin as to risk messing it up.If your state allows it, the 5.6 with 60 gr Nosler partition bullet will kill a Whitetail as well as a 219 Zipper or 25-35. That's an idea, I am already set up to load for the 5.6x50R in my combo gun. I was thinking of cartridges that would work with the existing extractor without having to build it up.

Oskar, You are correct that it would be easier to use an unmodified extractor. The 30-30,etc rims don't always fit the 9.3 extractor, but they can be turned to the smaller dia.when they don't.The extractor is one of the considerations.BTW, have you tried the partition bullet in your combo gun? Mike

No I haven't tried it as I have a 7x57R drilling for big game but I do use the 5.6x50R on coyotes and it does a great job with 40gr NBT's and 52gr Speer FB HP's and 1 1.4oz F shot in the shotgun.

Oskar, I couldn't get the photo to open up, it must be something between Photo Bucket and my computer.I too have other guns for big game, maybe I have a character fault in wanting to try any "new"gun(maybe 100 years old)on Whitetail. I'm way behind on "blooding" them now, and can't seem to catch up. Mike

It is a Bernardelli 2000 in 12ga over 5.6x50R Mag. It usually wears a Leupold VX-II 1x4x20mm scope but in the pic I was testing a Weaver V-3
