Here it is JC. You know I don't speak litre but there must be a conversion chart here somewhere. Anyway, there's nothing the size of a pullet egg. More like throw it in there and hope! Remember this is a MISTAKE but in small amts. all is not lost and maybe each of us will happen on his own happy mix. Actually I halved the BL and followed Hadoke's recipe for the rest. At least I took the words "proper infusion of ingredients" by simmering 10 mikes seriously. It wasn't boiling; just a steady appearance of very small bubbles.
8 fluid oz. boiled linseed
2 fluid oz. turpentine
2 tspn. Venice turpentine
200 grains flake carnauba wax

Translation:
8 fluid oz. boiled linseed - 0.24 litre (24 cl) (219.8 grams)
2 fluid oz. turpentine - 0.06 litre (6 cl) (51.35 grams)
2 tspn. Venice turpentine – 14.2 grams [honey] or 14.59 grams [molasses]
200 grains flake carnauba wax – 12.96 grams
Note: The specific weight for Venice turpentine could not be found so I assimilated it either to honey or molasses, whichever matches best, ;-)

I mixed up two batches. One using "flaked" wax the other with solid carbuba wax. The solid chunk of wax melted and mixed MUCH better than the flaked variety which seems to want to seperate out into little tiny bits in the slacum. Just my personal experience.

The flake stuff I got showed first day signs of precipitating but then dispersed evenly as a mucilagenous suspension in the BL/turps. I'm not a chemist but the appearance suggests that the ingredients do not precisely disappear in a uniform common solution. Is that right? Is it acceptable? Should I bile it agin; pray for help, what?
