Ken,
When you run across a 30" BSS, heft it. I believe it'll handle like a "normal gun" in 32"+ because of the heavy walls on the barrels. I don't think the BSS can be had in any longer barrels than 30". But the guns were CNC machined and stocks should interchange...meaning; have one stock built, buy a cord of 30" BSS guns (what're they; $1500 for a nice one?) and start trying to wear them out.

Here's my Anna Nicole in progress ....

1927 Sterlingworth, 32" barrels, vault tight ....$600
re-choked to .022/.022 ....$85
CA English blank ....$500
my pattern duplicated and hand-fitted by a pro ....$600
complete metal restoration ...$600
parts gun less barrels ....$200
to be finished and checkered by me, under <$3K with spare parts.

Weighs 8.25 lbs as shown; should be ready for the tournament season in the spring. I don't compete as heavily anymore, but I'm sure it will handily digest 10K rounds of my favorite 1 ounce #7.5 per year. I have 30K rounds through a Utica 16ga and it's still tight as new with lever right of center.

R'man after a few 3 1/2's through the NID I thought it might not be heavy enough!!!! I've got 12 ga inserts in it right now. The real problem shooting it is too much drop.I'd like to give your NID a whirl.I Would have to shoot in a tee shirt with your LOP Dang Mike, I like to your Sterlingworth! I've got a 32" Sterlingworth also but can't bring myself to alter it from original.(even though I can't shoot it worth spit.)

Regards,
Ken

KN - I'd be very happy for you to give the NID a little exercise. Two screws and that pad comes right off. Do you ever come to North Carolina? If not, we can discuss something closer to Tulsa.

Mike - that is a handsome project. Im glad to see more guys working up SXS target guns. IMO, shortage of real target guns is the major hole in the SXS population.

R'man,

Thanks for the invite! I use to travel extensively, but my current job has me anchored close to home.If I have reason to head that way I'll give you a shout. If you head this way let me know we'll go to the club and shoot till the cows come home.....then we'll turn on the lights and shoot some more!

Best regards,
Ken
