I'm pooped! And I didn't even see a third of it. Friday is nice with room to move around and not feel like the little sardine in the tin......but tomorrow will be crunch time. One nice thing about the legislative scares lately is there are far fewer black guns than usual--they've all been sold! While I am enjoying the show the overall quality seems to be declining.

Nice to meet Rocketman and his more than tolerant and patient wife, Susi. I only understood a quarter of what he explained about the MOI machine. But I'm only a country boy......

Joe, our home place was about 12 miles from the White House and I don't understand much about MOI either. You don't have to be a country boy to be confused.

I claim the greatest act of self restraint I have done in years.

I drove to Tulsa friday, linked up with a dealer to purchase a double rifle, finished the transaction and left the building without further shopping.

I walked by beautiful guns and neat stuff but did not stop other than a few word with George from Champlain who was along my route out of the building.

I still can't beleve I was able to stop myself from spending more. Had I walked around ten minutes I would have broken.

I was at George's table when you came by but didn't know you from Adam. Golly, wish I'd known who you were. Sorry......

Bought a very high condition Trojan 12 bore today. I was totally innocent but it came walking by George's tables and asked if it could go home with me. How could I resist such a pathetic appeal......."honey, it just followed me out the door".....

; very similar toJoe, your MOI data follows: the A&N (12 bore W&S Priprietary BLE with 28" bbls and 13 7/8" LOP) weighed in at 6# 6 1/2 oz, balance (teeter-totter) at 5 1/8" to front trigger, unmounted swing of 1.44, mounted swing of 6.42, and half weight radius (compactness) of 10.21. This gun is bing on the average game gun except for having 1 1/2 oz lighter and balance of 5/8" farther forward (avg. at 4 1/2"); the Wm. Moore Jones underlever 10 bore 2 7/8" hammer gun weighed in at 8# 12 3/4 oz, balanced at 5 5/8" forward of the front trigger, unmounted swing effort of 2.59, mounted swing of 10.47, and HWR of 11.68.

The neat thing about these two guns is that the A&N is near as light and low swing efforts as most people can manage while the Wm. Moore is about as heavy and high swing efforts as most can handle. That is to say, a light, fast gun (think game gun) vs a very heavy, slow gun (think heavy fowler/target gun; very similar to a K-80 12 bore, 30" bbl, 14 3/4" LOP).

Enjoyed the talk and discussion!!

Questions?

Rocketman are you planning to be at Flatwater in a few weeks again? If so, there are a couple I want to have you look at. Thanks.

Don, thanks for the great information. The concept is beginning to jell in my feeble brain. If the data ever became universally used it would enable us to clearly communicate the all important feel of a gun. It could be as common as "dram equivent".

I tried to send you a pm but your inbox is full. You might delete sovme older ones to open up space.
