She isnt much for the woods, actually. Alexandra does want to try some clay shooting sports, but, actual hunting is for the boy and I.

Pretty sure I cant talk the boy into modeling the hat. Im OK with that, actually.

If you and I have them, I wouldnt be thinking, in.

There is likely a more accurate term.

John,
The gun has a hand guard for the barrels. Dont know if you noticed, but, the snow is a hint, it was about 20 degrees when I snapped the pic, and the clever girl just slid the guard up the barrels, so her hand wouldnt be holding bare steel.
The gun also has a sling on in the photo. Most shotgunners dont have anything to do with a sling, and the beauty of this one is, if I take it off, you wouldnt know the gun was equipped with one. The sling obediently returns to a position just in front of the forend, when a Colombian girl isnt holding it near the end of the barrels. Because the sling is free to move, back and forth, there isnt much trouble with it catching on brush while in use.

It takes less time to remove the sling, then it takes to type it. Ditto putting it on.

The post is in direct reference to things French. Although, the hand guard, which came from our own John Boyd (Thanks again, John!) was produced in England, if I am not mistaken.

Alexandra immigrated, in legal fashion, to be my wife, 15 years ago. She was watching the evening news with me, shortly after she got here, and looked at me, and said, when do we get to hear the counterpoint? The news seems very biased in one political direction.

I knew, then and there, I had hit the jackpot.

This past summer, she completed hunter safety education in the state of MN. Her fear of guns, and people who had them, when she got here, has changed, along with the political views she came here with. She is now a rabid conservative, with absolutely no patience for anyone who isnt here in the US legally, and loves to shoot the little .410 pump I started her and the boy on. He has graduated, to a 20 gauge, she, is 115 pounds, and a little short on upper body strength to move up to the 20 gauge.
Time is my friend in that regard. She wont shoot in the cold.
I think she looks damn good with a 28 gauge French double, and weird little French hat.

Ted

French girl (without her William Evans 20 bore English gun). First time she visited London she was amazed someone would name Trafalgar Square after a defeat.
