And since we're looking at the rifles, here are a few more of those. The Merkel (without mounts) is from 1931 and is 8x57R. The 9.3x72r double only bears its retailers' name, Weisgerber, and is also of a very high build standard. The Merkel is a great shooter with factory ammo. The 9.3x72r double is coming along. It's been a bit more complicated as it was made prior to the standardization of the 9.3x72r chamber in 1909, so it is tight and fully sized brass using standard dies won't fit. I don't want to touch up the chambers, although that would simplify things. So in the meantime I have been wrapping brass with tape to size it down further. I haven't tried using shims under the brass in the shellholder yet, but that would be simpler if it works.

I haven't hunted with either yet.
