Today, President Trump awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to SSG David Bellavila for action in Iraq. Our nation is blessed to have men such as this willing to serve. His grandfather, a 99 year old WW2 Bronze Star for action at Normandy, was able to watch the ceremony on TV. There is no doubt David's grandfather and deceased father passed along to him what it took to save his squad, before himself. When we think things are "going to pot", Think of him.

If you haven't seen them already, there are a bunch of 1st person accounts on YouTube from Medal of Honor winners from WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan on the actions that resulted in their being awarded the Medal of Honor. Their level of bravery is just astounding, as is the modesty of the recipients. I can only watch so many at one time as it is emotionally draining.

Just search under "medal of honor stories."

Here is one example of a Navy Seal's actions during Viet Nam
