No markings other than serial number. Nothing on the rib or flats.

Any help appreciated!

I don't think so. The lug is shaped differently than any I cand find pictures.

Also, every IJ SxS I have seen had the name on top of the barrels.

The pattern on the top rib might give a clue. Also a picture of the forend lug.

It is very similar to an N.R. Davis & Son's model I have.

I'll get a few more pictures. Hopefully today, but tomorrow for sure.

Forend Lug

Extractor is engaged by this "rocker" that would push against the action flats.

With extractor in fire position.

With extractor in the open position.

Rib matting.

I am still at a loss to identify the Maker. The rib pattern is very crude, so a low budget gun. The cockng bar/rod is much like a N.R. Davis or Stevens 311 but actuator for the extractor is different. With nothing but the serial number on the assembly it should rule out any imports so a low budget American maker. But???

I do love a good mystery,

Yep!
That is where I landed.
Single lock up on the rib extension also says "American".
