What are the cons to a loose rib, well one is corrosion, I have a small section that has come loose on one of my favorites, its a beater so no plans on a rib relay. I had oil get in it and I have blown out most if not all, it was clear when it came out. Is there anything that can be done, perhaps seal the area with something?

Is it loose? ( can see movement and hear buzzing or clunking when tapped) or is it leaking ( rings and no visible movement but leaks)? Loose means the solder joint has failed and should be addressed. Lots of guns leak and function just fine.

Its the solder joint, some movement when pressed, maybe about an inch long in the middle on the top rib, the rest is tight. You can hear it around that area when tapped, no clunking but a hollow sound.
