can anyone confirm the part based on the photos? I have looked in my Numrich book and there is no Flues diagram in there. Would anyone know where I could find a diagram for this model gun that would show the part?

Thanks

Rick,

Thanks for the heads up, I have a lightweight 20ga that's been out of action for a few years while I decided what to do about the broken cocking hook. Just got one from ebay.

thanks,

Rob

Cary's right, it ain't. You have a broken cocking hook, better get one from Rick's source, they are hard to come by.

Rick, do you know if the ones from Ebay are hardened or did he leave them soft to fit them?

Here are some pics of the broken cocking hook from my gun, the photos Robe put up is missing the block on the end, it should all be one piece but the one from Robe's gun has gone missing. All he's left with is the split rod. Hopefully he kept the spring and the screw.

Thanks Recoil for the photos. I spoke with Cary and he explained basically what your photos show. I have passed this information along to the owner of the gun who was having trouble finding the part. Some of the other photos he sent showed the spring and screw you are speaking of. As far as I know he still has them. Again thanks everyone for the help.

Rob, Good question. I assumed that the Flues cocking hooks that gun-garage had made were from hardened steel. You can ask him. I think his email addy is: gungarage@gmail.com

Rick,

I have an email in to him to find out, I'll let you know. Shouldn't be a problem to harden them if they need it.

I found out that the originals were hardened the hard way. The stem on mine had bent and the timing was off, the firing pins were dragging. I tried tapping the bend out and boink!

Hope he left them a bit long.

He says they were from hardened steel but he had to fit them. Hardened steel doesn't file well so I have my doubts.

When they get here I'll let you know what I find...

In any case glad he had them made.

The new ones are from fairly hard steel, I can hardly mark them with a needle file at all. The original marks a bit easier.

Looks like whoever made them knew what they were doing will report when have time to check fit and function.
