I spent the Christmas vaca with my Dad in Oregon and he gave his guns to me. One of them is a government model 38 super serial # 70S02827. I looked it up for date of manufacture and its not listed:

Model 1911 .38 Commercial
1972 70S03801
1972 70S06501
1973 70S07852
1974 70S09051
1975 70S20000
1976 70S20201

Anyone know about these? thanks
