I am looking for a little bit af advice. I was just given a Lefever DS 16 ga 26" s/n 70xxx. Metal is a brownish patina,no rust or pitting, buttstock has been glued back together several times, bores are bright,no dents in barrel, locks up tight. Top lever is loose. I am going to take to smith tomorrow to check out if it can be fired. If gun is mechanically sound is it worth having a stock made for it ? or is it destin to be a wall hanger ?

It really depends on what you paid for the gun and what you will spend on the stock. A custom stock today will far exceed the value of a DS Lefever.

Sometimes sentimental value far exceeds market value, a new stock will probably cost 2500 for quality work. The gun as described sounds like it's worth is in the neighborhood of $800-1000. Take this for what it is worth.

Probably better off to just have the stock repaired and refinished, fix the top lever, and shoot the heck out of it.

Just left the smith. Barrels choked cyl/mod. Chambers still 2 9/16.
Cost $100 to make useable.
Previous owner called and thinks he remembers having a second set of barrels for the gun and is going to look for them.
I think I am having a good day .
