Hey Guys,

Any other good articles? What else am I missing? If it doesn't arrive by Thursday I'm going to call DGJ, 2 weeks should be enough time for it to arrive.

Arrived in VA on Sat. Just flipped through quickly and noticed what may be a first - double printing of pictorial page near back in 'Dove Gun' article...

Arrived here on the Washington/Idaho border today. Apparantly there was a bit of a disconnect between what I thought I was saying, what Tom Archer heard, and what ended up in print on page 126. What I thought I was saying, or trying to say, was that Remington Arms Co. and then Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. were shipping more of their John M. Browning designed Remington Autoloading Gun/Model No. 11 per year than Ansley H. Fox produced in his seven years at the helm of A.H. Fox Gun Co. Not that Remington was shipping more autoloaders per year than A.H. Fox Gun Co. ever produced!

Got mine today in South Carolina. Nice article by Dig on Brit guns of the 1870's.

Best Regards, George

Brother Dave, you are indeed correct. I have no idea how I allowed this obvious and grossly incorrect statement "in one year" to be overlooked during my proof reading efforts other than sheer fatigue from attempts to meet the deadline. At any rate, I stand corrected and extend my sincerest apologies; and also sincerely hope that I did not misquote any of your other insightful comments. Tom

Mine arrived here in Southern Ontario today. I agree that the cover looks somewhat garish, perhaps even tacky. On another note, and I may be pilloried here for saying this: Ross Seyfreid's article is NOT about falling block rifles, it is about a Westley Richards, take-down bolt-action rifle and his hunt for a bull elk with it. Our magazine was originally titled "The Double Gun Journal". The title was changed a few years ago to include single shot rifles. I am told, tho not on any official level, that Ross had a lot to do with that change. Now he is writing an article on bolt-action rifles. What will be next, a photo of the latest "wonder-nine" on the cover, a la Guns and Ammo?

Don't get me wrong, I think that Ross Seyfreid is the finest writer of our generation on the subject of single-shot and double rifles. The Westley Richards which is the subject of his article is a wonderful thing. But in my opinion, it has no place in THE DOUBLE GUN AND SINGLE SHOT JOURNAL. 'Nuff said !!

Yup, got it in MD, the DC suburbs today, April 23. I haven't had time to read or comment. I'm sure it will be wonderful.
