I was wondering about bending the stock on a Back Action Hammergun (Husqvarna 51, 16ga). There is about 4" space from the tang screw to the start of the comb, is this enough space to get a 1/2-3/8 casr off. I know that the trigger guard comes off before bending. I woul think that the locks should stay on to support the wood.

I don't have any experience with this Blackmagic science. What do you Wizzard say?

The locks stay on and the triggerguard is removed. My hammer Husky was not Walnut. Many were made from another type of wood and they could not be bent according to Mike Orlen who tried to bend mine. Yours may be walnut.

The discription of the Husqvarna model 20 (lefaucheux) states the stock as "valnot eller rodbbk", I believe that translates to "walnut or beech". The beech can be identified by the small cresent shapes that appear on the surface that will not take up any stain.
The stock on this model 51 is "valnot".

hva model 20
