Jerry, guns like that don't come along very often. I "think" the gun was proofed in July of 1933. Very fine pics and gun.

Very, very nice Jerry. Note how the cocking dogs hang down and the sideframe reinforcement/sideclips along with the cocking indicators make me think of August Schüler, a Model 4a August Schüler if it has H&H ejectors. At 1st glance the engraving makes me think of Fritz Heimbeck but I'll have to do a bit of comparison. Any chance of getting a pic of the marks just ahead of the flats to the forend lug. There's something forward of the flats.
Kind Regards,
Raimey rse

I knew that I had seen a similar one in GGCA's publication. In No. 34(Fall 2007) at page 8 is almost this ones twin with Henry Vogt, Chicago on top and Addison Stillwell on the triggerbow guard. It too was a 20 bore stamped "18" and um, sort of difficult to see but it looks to be from July 1933 also. There are several upper rung German guns out there with Henry Vogt's name on them and I think at best he was a firearms merchant. In the early 1930s Schüler was attempting to peddle his wares thru Frederick W. Hollender. Heym & others were also trying to gain a foothold in the U.S. of A. In 1935 August Schüler celebrated 100 years of business. The engraving may resemble that found on the O/U Dalys of the early 1930s like those owned by Mr. Wes Fink and found in GGCA No. 37(Fall 2008) at page 8.
Jerry, just delete ever other IMG string that you have and you won't have the picture duplicity. Serial number if allowed?
Kind Regards,

I'll go out on a limb and say it is the very same engraving as that one in England with Henry Vogt of Chicago & Addison Stillwell's name. Same engraver, same raptor/eagle preying on a couple of ducks, fleur de lis on the church windows, drop points, etc. A brace indeed.
With an example like that you can claim whatever exemption/Mullican/Mulligan you wish. Has Ken viewed it yet?
Kind Regards,

Raimey, No, he's down in New Zealand chasing those horned critters. We're in the middle of having new flooring in the "man cave" and I have emptied the bookshelves for the event, so I can't put my hands on the GGCA issue you refer to. You are amazing, Thanks.
ggca issue to check out the pictures

Jerry, I guess this didn't arrive in one of Ken's Christman boxes, eh??? I hope the following hastily snapped image of GGCA No. 34 at Page 8 works. If you have opportunity, with a glass check for any marks forward of the flats. A GGCA member in England had it in 2007 - Henry Vogt of Chicago with Addison Stillwell on the triggerbow guard.
