I was cleaning an old Parker VH with the barrels removed. while cleaning I accidently hit one of the triggers and the internal hammer snapped. How I can't put the barrels back on. How can I re-cock the internal hammer without taking the action apart...or can I?? Thanks, Steve

The barrels will install just fine with the hammers uncocked. Forend too. Open the gun up and the gun will recock.

If the cocking hook won"t pick up the cocking toggle you can engage the toggle with a strong narrow screwdriver and cock the hammers with the barrels off of the action. Slip the blade into eiter slot of the toggle and lever it up.

Another thing, check the cocking hook on the barrels and make sure it moves freely, if it's stuck it won' pick up the toggle.

The cocking hook picks up the toggle once the forend is installed therefore pushing the unhooking slide back and allowing the hook to spring forward and grab the cocking crank.
Again... there is no need to recock the gun. Just install the barrels/forend and open it up.
No need to be sticking screwdrivers in anywhere.

Let it go guys. The OP hasn't commented again so there's not a lot we can do to help other than speculate.

I'm here and thank you for the tips. This week has been a "bear" as today is my last day at work..RETIRING...WooHoo!! The owners on the company have been spending all week picking my brain clean of all the info I have between my ears. By the time I get home I'm beat but when I get home this evening I'll relax and work on the Parker in the morning. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Silly me, I thought my last week was going to be a cake walk!
