I recently acquired an older Damascus double barrel LC Smith and am having a little trouble getting good info on it. #'s match on all 3 pieces with the exception of the letter A which does not appear on the fore end but does on the receiver and barrels, the brake down goes like this:

fore end Pat'd June 1st 1880 serial # 3778 also stamped in wood 3778

Damascus barrels 12 guage 3778 A

receiver Aug 31 1875 Pat'd Jany 29 1878 3778 A


trying to determine value, collectability ect. in very good shape!

Welcome on your first post here. We're going to need more information to venture a guess as to what you have and what its worth. Pictures are almost a necessity...Geo
