I was at a gunshop out in the boonies and noticed a gun behind the locked glass cabinet. I didn't have the time to get the clerk to pull it out fondle, but did take a quick notice of a few things.
It is an older hammerless SxS in what appeared to be original/unfinished condition. sidelocks/plates with about 50% case colors. little, if any engraving. 12g and 30" tubes. Lever right of center and it appeared to be tight with no major issues on wood/metal fit or repairs. Appeared ot have Steel (non Damascus) barrels in good shape with generally nice blueing. Looked like there was no cutting of wood and probably original buttplate intact.
The forend snapped on similar to an old Trojan I ued to have.
The paper tag said it was a Baker 12g, 30" mod/full.
I don't know the variations and details on Baker guns or what a decent one should cost. Were there both boxlocks and sidelocks? grades, etc?
Any hints or info would be appreciated.
Thanks
