Last month at the NRA double gun class at Tinidad, as I was smokeing in an L.C. I was re-jointing several members of the class commented that the smell of the fuel I was useing for my smoke smelled.......differant. What do you use? Thank, Mark

I usually use Solo 1000, but I have used Nitro 100 and SR 7625. But the Solo 1000 I have been using for the past 6-7yrs.

Mark, I use Mineral Spirits. It don't smell great but it don't stink like that crap you were using!

I often burn well used motor oil from my truck. I put it in a small jar with a lantern wick, which is fed through a soldered on brass rifle case. I suppose if smell was really a factor you could use thinly applied prussian blue layout dye.

Mark, I normally use lamp oil from the grocery store. I'm a sissy and it is scented for pine or rasberries or......makes pretty good blacking. A $2 bottle will last you a lifetime.
