I have removed the drawbolt, but the stock will only go back 1/2 in.Do I have to remove the trigger plate to free the buttstock? If so which screw allows plate to be removed.I don't want to loosen other internal parts.
Any other cautions on displacing other internal parts.
It may be that the 1924 wood has shrunk
and is simlpy draging on internal parts.Just don't want to force it and break it using wrong procedure.
Thanks.

rmoon,Welcome to this site! It is probably just tight and i would take a rubber hammer and gently bump stock at nose of comb and grip. Take your time and be gentle. Bobby

rmoon,

I ran into the same problem last weekend. I loosened both bottom plate screws and the stock came off easily. Once the stock was off, I removed the bottom plate completely for cleaning. There are three springs under the plate so keep the frame upside down and remove plate slowly.
