Just a note to all that may be interested. I have got the new site up and running. It needs a bit of tweeking but I wanted it visible for when I am at SCI this week in Vegas. I hope it is an improvement.
All the best,
Dig

Dig: A fantastic venture. Long needed, and I'm sure well received. Best of fortune!
Can't wait to visit the Houston shop.

Hi Dig, very nice site, well done. I like the informative sites, such as the ones on proof for example.
Really looks good!
All the best!

I'm in Houston now. Shop is coming along nicely. We fly to Vegas tomorrow. Would be fun to meet anyone from the forum who may be there.

Already on my favourites page.
Hey I hope you ate those Pukeko! There's an old recipe for those that involves a rock.
I've spotted another book of yours online titled ”Vintage Guns: Collecting, Restoring, & Shooting Classic Firearms.” Is this the same book as your “Vintage guns for the modern shot”? Did you ever write that second book and if so where can I get a copy?
Cheers,
GDU.

hello dig, 2 points re website. individual gun pics take forever to load,if at all on some. are the prices on boxlock shotguns displayed correctly? an example is the basic webley 700 shown as Ł5600.all other boxlocks appear similarly overpriced. best wishes mrwmartin

Greg, the two tiles reflect the fact that the US publisher changed it for the US version. Same book.
New book is finished, with publisher and due for release in October this year.
Prices are correct. All the guns have been fully serviced, renovated and are in showroom condition, cased, 2 3/4" proofed and guaranteed for 12 months. The Webley is not standard - long barrels, pigeon rib and very high grade wood as well as close to 100% case colour. Prices include delivery to any address in USA except local FEDEX charge in country.

hello again, switched browsers and pics are now fine. i live in uk and as your website is .uk and priced in pounds sterling i assumed it was aimed for british market. 28 inch is standard for webley 700 (25,26 and 30 inch are less common) and for price comparison www.guntrader.co.uk has 25 webley 700,( 17 of which are 28 inch) for sale and the prices range 800 to 1895 pounds(most expensive is appx 40% of the price against the one advertised on your site, hence my query!) these are my observations, best wishes, mrwmartin

Nice site and nice selection of guns. However, I have to agree with Mr W martin - I find some of the prices baffling.

Excellent website upgrade Dig - impressive. A couple of thoughts;
- can you add functionality to the pictures so that you can "slideshow" and see each one by one rather than having to click on each?
- can you add "sort" functionality by price/other?
- may be interesting to do a "profiled" gun of the month; either one you have for sale or one you have sold and how it is practically being used. It "brings alive" to prospective purchasers just how usable the wonderful guns you have for sale actually are. I am happy to act as a test case here with the Paton 8ga!
Craig.

Fantastic! I only hope that all the USA shipping gremlins have been worked out(lol) because I'm predicting I will be one of your American customers, probably a repeat customer at that.
Really great job, Diggory.

I was feeling a bit low and depressed. Then I looked at this site. Saw the prices asked . Havent had such a good laugh for ages. Is the decimal point is in the wrong place?
Please could you also explain why you quote Ł1000 to sleeve a 12 bore but Ł1500 for a 20 bore . Where do you get the extra Ł500 from?

Diggory, I have put a couple of hammer guns in Holt's next sale with modest reserves. One may interest you as the condition is virtually unused. Lagopus.....

Gunman, call me and we'll have a nice chat. Thank you for your input. I think face to face we may discuss matters more productively.
I'll work on the slideshow - I think it can be done.
I can get the guns delivered to any address in the US in ten days.
Laopus, Im bac from SCI on 6th Feb.
Many thanks everyone. BTW SCI is good, saw a lot of old faces, Paul Roberts, Chris Souza, Trigger, Ian Andrews, Alastair Phillips etc. Having a good time here.

Dig,
I noticed in your gun repair section that color case hardening is not mentioned. Are you planning on offering that service? (hopefully by St. Ledger)
Thanks, Larry

I don't do colour case hardening as part of a restoration, I think it spoils the gun.

Small Bore, thanks for the invite but I don't see the point . You are the one useing this forum to advertise your new web site , thus inviting comments. I did so, as no doubt will others . Its your site and your prices. Time I'm sure will no doubt tell.

I'm always open to constructive criticism. And I got some. The tone of yours, however, wasn't constructive. I generally prefer to keep it face to face when it becomes personal. People are generally politer then. To answer you question, I find 20-bore tubes of the quality I will use are harder to find and more expensive.

I don't think there is any need to fall out over such trivia. Save your wrath Gentlemen for the Labour Government who got us in the mess we are in now and the Board of RBS.
