I bought a pair of pins and bushings for my Grade 2 LC Smith, but they are a larger diameter than the ones in the gun. My gun's bushings have a thread diam. of .312" and the large end of the bushing is .354" The ones I bought from RWTF(and I was happy to get them) have a thread diam of .351" and the large end is .432". If anyone knows what and where to find what I need, let me know. Thanks JW

JW, this is from Brophy's Plans and Specifications of the L.C. Smith Shotgun.
The other ones seem to be oversize, and maybe the gun they were originally from had to drilled out and oversize ones made.
The size is .312 and the threads are 32.

Look on eBay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/L-C-SMITH-f-p-bu...=item43adad7cc2

Thanks for the kind words-- I have another set from a 12 Grade 2- firing pins, bushings and the copper retaining set screws- Let me know if you want to look at them- and as always, 100% return for refund if they are not right-RWTF

RWTF, it is doubtful that your bushings with the retaining screws will work in another gun. They will screw in but a good chance they will not orientate to the existing retaining screw holes. Since these are custom fitted to every gun, and need to be filed to fit as they are set at an angle.

Although the drawing shows the thread diameter of the bushing to be 0.307", one threaded 5/16-32 works just fine, even though it should be 0.008" oversize.

I would suggest you contact Bill Schwarz in Ellijay, Ga. He made some for me two or three years ago and did a
splendid job. Tel. 1-706-276-7668.

Yup 15% face bevel-- main two things about bushings, if the threads are correct and not "boogered" and the OD of the bushing is the correct size, then the rest it fit and finish filing-- the bushings are not under stress, so 1018 mild steel or even 12L14 screw machine stock is fine-- I have two 12 Gauge pre-1913 Grade 2 Smiths- both with bushings and the copper retaining screws- one made in 1902 and one in 1910- both R or std frame guns- and with neither of each can you interchage the bushings, or for that matter, the lock plates- close- but not right- hand fitted guns, yessiree!

Patrick, I believe he needs the ones for the bushings, which are completely different.
