OP doubletrouble Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 251 Sun City, Ca.	I have an GH Parker 8ga. with damascus steel barrels which I believe have been rebrowned with cold browning. My question is, should you be able to see a pattern in original damascus steel barrels?

But if kept out of daylight and in a dark cabinet, then yes you will be able to see the pattern. I believe they should be black/white not brown/white. David

David Williamson Sidelock Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 3,736 Likes: 54 Eastern Pa	Justin, the sprials are the Twist. All Damascus barrels when they are rust blued and then boiled, will come out black. In order to see the Damascus pattern, they have to be dipped in an etching solution from 5-10 seconds, and then immediately flushed with running water to stop the etching.
