Is there a substitute for kerosine to use in a smoke pot when fitting things up. Kerosine is getting expensive and hard to find. Home Depot sells it for $43 for 2 1/2 gallon containers. A pint would last me for years.
Go to your local General Aviation airport and buy a gallon of Jet-A jet fuel which is highly refined kerosene with additives....cheap...(local airport Fixed Base Operator where a/c fuel is sold) .....
OR:
When the Fixed Base Operator drains the Jet Fuel Truck sump each morning they will usually "give" you a small amount at "no charge" if you ask politely ......
Smokes like the dickens in any wick flame device......smokes really good in a Zippo lighter if you want maneuvering flexibility while doing stock work..........
