I would love to learn more about him. When he passed away he only had one sister left. Most of his stuff was cleaned out of his apartment and sold at auction. The family members that are still alive didn't pay much attention to his guns. The farm he grew up on is 3 miles from here. The shop he worked at was burned down by some kid vandals with some of his stuff in his later years.
As far as the finished .220 I have it's actually a Keith Stegall gun. Posting these pictures I was hoping to learn and see more of Leonards work. I have been doing a little research on the guns. I was looking through Checkering and carving of gunstocks book when I came across Keith Stegall. Here I found pictures of the exact gun that I have. The checkering and lines are a dead match. So now I am a bit confused as to why Leonard had the gun. In the book it shows a gun and talks about a Curvaceous Blond Leonard made for Dr. Smith. If the Stegall gun is in the book then I would think there would be some records on it somewhere? I would like to learn more about it and get a rough idea of what to insure it for.
Tomorrow I will post some pictures of Leonards tools that I have.
