I said I would post some pictures of my repaired hammergun. Here are a few. The repair runs right through the front guard screw to the top tang screw. Revdocdrew, I will get better close-ups and e-mail them to you. My GSP pup was being very annoying while I took these.

Revdocdrew, Thank you for recommending Craig. He did a fine job. If I was having a repair like this done again, I would go agead and have the checkering recut while it was in his hands. I weighed the gun a few minutes ago on a certified shipping scale and it weighs
5 pounds 6 ounces. It will make a great grouse gun, one that will be carried a lot more thsn shot.

treblig58 He did a good job eh? I love the gun. I've taken it for walks with the dogs at the club, and it is great to carry. I am using it to get my pup used to bigger gunfire now that he pays no attention to a .22. I have only fired it when Loki was 30-40 yards out to this point, but he doesn't react to it. Meanwhile Hershey, my Llew goes insane at the shot, jumping on his hind legs, looking in every direction for a falling bird. I think this Shotgun will be the one I reach for when pursuing Ruffs and Doodles in decent weather. I don't know about hammers and double triggers with heavier wool gloves.
