I'm looking at an engraved 16x16x9.3x72R sidelock Sauer drilling that the owner says is a Model 3000 "LG". Never heard of it. Knowledgeable friend of mine says it's a pre-war Sauer 25A. Any thoughts?

Sauer 3000 LG

Marc, very helpful thanks. Looks like it's a Model 25a made in about 1922.

Marc, any source for the rough value of one of these "luxury grades" in VG condition?

Raimey, I see you're the "Krupp Expert". Any way of finding a resource for the minimum barrel wall thickness of the 16 ga. Sauer 25a drilling I'm considering?

They are Krupp Laufstahls from Essen.

Thanks

Sam

Well, good question, if the barrels are spotless en the barrel thickness is good and there is no play in the action. These sell here between 1800/ 2500 € You can ask for a second opinion from my Swedish friend P-O Haggards who is the Sauer specialist this is his e-mail adress: haggards@telia.com
Cheers, greetings from Belgium, Marc.

Sam,
When you travel from NC to FLA and back, do you drive I 85? If so you cross the ALA/GA line 12 miles from my house.
