Hello friends, i bought a brand new 28" B 525L recently and havent had the chance to shoot with it yet. Season is opening in a month and it will be first time i will be shooting with it. I never have shot with an alloy actioned gun before and i am wondering if i will have recoil problems with it. I will need some aid in the cartridge selection. Which gram suits me better? Fibre or plastic wads? The gun has 3" chambers 18.4 bore diameter and invector chokes and from Browning's directory it was built in 2007. Thanks in advance.

Depending on local availability 30gm to 32gm load with near the muzzle velocity of about 380m/s. Since the gun is not back-bored type of wad is not relevant though most would pick plastic wad as shells tend to be less expensive and available in greater variety.

You will have pretty sharp recoil with 1 1/4 loads. Other than that, unless shooting high volume, recoil should be ok with 1 1/8 oz. or less oz. loads @ 1200-1250 fps. JR

Kem How many shots during the hunt? One, five, ten, more? What quarry? Grouse? Pig? Stalk or driven hunt? In my experience, if only shooting a few shells, and during the hunt, I never feel the recoil or hear the gun They do have 3 inch chambers and thus are proofed for heavy factory loads. Thanks Mike Good reading http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/shotgun/browning-b525-light-classic-shotgun-review

Thanks the info was educative. Mike i will be using it for chukar and hare hunting most probably 8 max 10 shots per week. But after december i will be using it for driven hunting though will use 24 - 32 grams. I hope i wont get mad with recoil.

All should be well, choose your 2 3/4" ammo wisely and all will be well
Enjoy the new shotgun
