About a year ago I wanted to ask David (Crossed Chisels) some questions about a couple of Reilly's that passed through his hands some years ago which allegedly belong to Princess Eugenie (Napoleon III's wife). I sent him a PM. No answer. Another member suggested I try his Internet address. I did. No luck.
He came on line once about ten months ago and sent me a one line PM, asking me to contact him on the internet. I did - again no response.
Finally DAM16SXS said he is now 80 yoa, is fine, to just call him and provided his phone number.

Yes I heard David had become reclusive due to family circumstances and moving house. But I have only ever had good times with David and wished to update him about life at Purdey's .

I spoke on the phone with him last week. He's fine and quite talkative.
He's been in his 'new' house in So. Berwick, Maine for a few years now but says he was more comfortable in the last one and of course they were living in the So. Berwick house at the time Elaine passed so he's even more uncomfortable there. But he's always in good spirits whenever I talk with him. And he's got some damn funny stories!! and he's got a lot of historical fact stored in his shaggy white head.
He's not necessarily reclusive but doesn't get out much because of his weakened legs and stuff.

Just talked to David, He's got a ton of stories and knows a lot about Reilly's..has pictures of several guns that I need to see. And Salopian, he knows you and says since you're from the Midlands....well...you know Londoners.  Its best you call him. Great conversation.
