A while back someone posted a picture of a upgraded sxs Fox with a grouse engraved on the side. I have tried searching for it but I am not having any luck. If someone can point me towards the post I will be grateful. Thanks

I've seen several posted here.

JB Patton has one in French gray; Doug Mann has one with the grouse in gold. Kevin Springman has one with a grouse on the bottom.

I've always thought a nice article picturing and describing the procedures involved of as many upgraded/ customized Sterlingworths as possible would make great reading in the DGJ.

Bob-

Do you have Steve Hughes'first book, "Fine Gunmaking, Double Shotguns"? He devotes the last several chapters to what was involved in turing a plain Sterlingworth into his now famous custom Fox. It gives far more insight, detail, and background than any single article could give you. If you don't have the book I heartily reccomend it.

I'd redo my Sterlingworth, but as it stands, it is the king of the farmer's grade and I love those farmers!
Like to see pictures of how the snap-on forend looks in high grade.

JB, refresh our memory. Who were the workmen on your great Fox? I think I got a hint on the action sculpting from the Becker platform and the fancy back. Thanks, Murphy

I've never been a big fan of deep relief engraving but this could make me rethink my position; my gosh that's a good looking gun!!!!!

I love the whole thing.... the engraving on the barrels, the amount of scroll vs. negative space, etc.

Thank you very much for sharing that with us!
