Thought someone may be restoring and old Marlin 1893.... I pulled this out of a barrel of barrels at a gunshow in western CT about 25 years ago, about 20 miles from the old Marlin factory, maybe taken by an employee. The barrel looks new. The bore is perfect, the barrel measures 26" to the cut ring at the muzzle which has to be finished and crowned. I chamber cast it and it's a 32-40. The chambering is not stamped on the barrel so I imagine it could be sleeved down to another caliber but certainly opened up to 38-55. Link to photos.....$550 plus shipping.

Anyone else have a problem?
The barrel is ready to install, threaded, all the dovetails cut, stamped. They didn't finish crowning though so that will need to be done.

RR, if that is a factory Marlin rifle barrel, you might advertise it on SteelChickens.com where the Levergun Silhouette folks tend to hang. But the rules require factory original barrels, so a faux-original is not within the rules.

Thanks Brent, I'm certain it is, it has a JM proof mark.

Thanks Brent, I'm certain it is, it has a JM proof mark. I think it would sell well to the Lever action silhouette guys. Competition rifles are only allowed to be original, rebored, or relined. Sort of strange rules, but a nice factory .32-40 barrel might well really well.
