The mark of the >>S<< in a Chevron denotes tube work by the Schilling Forge. Also present is the post WWII mark(Reproof) of the München Proof Facility. There's also the repair mark on the water-table. Serbus, Raimey rse

Büchsenmacher Ahl looks to have hung out his gunmaking shingle circa 1891 and peddled his wares thru a couple portals in Bonn, with one being Römerplatz 1. There may have been an association w/ Reeb of Bonn or Reeb may have absorbed Ahl??
Wolfgang might well have known them....

There just aren't a lot of possibilities for a mechanic w/ the initials >>C.F.<< with 3 possibilities:
Carl Fleischer - Mehlis
Christoph Funk - Suhl
C.A. Funk - Suhl
Now, I would sort or rule out Carl/Karl due to the use of the K for Karl up until a certain date that they began using C for Carl.... Too, I think it might be a Suhl mechanic so that would rule out Büchsenmacher Fleischer.....
Might you pleasure us w/ the full ensemble of marks, including both tubesets?? If you do now wish to deal with postin' images, you can forward them directly with me?

Is this the same mark you posted or the same mark on a different tubeset? Serbus, Raimey rse

Thank you very much for your answer. Here are some additional photos: The Action: , barrel set from Andreas August Ahl Bonn am Rhein: , and barrel set from Eduard Kettner: .Sorry for the quality of the photos, I didn't have much time. Do you think the numbers 131, 239, 491 are proof dates? This drilling seems older than 1931...

No, those are serial numbers associated with the Suhl mechanic that pushed the longarm thru the Suhl Proof facility. Another slight possibility is that one is that of the additional maker; another of Ahl and another of Kettner??

I for sure can see a Nitro stamp on the side of the 20 bore platform. I think I see a Nitro stamp on the side of the 16 bore platform. So it was made in Suhl between 1912 & 1914/1915. Then there were some alterations or improvements that warranted the additional proof efforts.

Yes I see the stamp of Eagle Nitro on the side of the 16 bore platform so I hold with the above.
