i recently traded for a william b hall combination gun of over under configuration. top barrel is 45-70 bottom 12 guage. markings are william b hall lancaster pat pending. it is very unusual in that it is a side break action, with internal hammers and external cockers. a us patent search shows that a patent was granted in 1889 for the design, applied for in 1888. i cannot find any further info on the gun, any knowledgeable insights would be greatly desired.

Are you able to post any pictures of the firearm? This is from the internetgunclub.com website

Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 1880-1890.

Granted the following breech loading patents; patent nos. 264827 1882, 276818 1883 and 414213 1889.
