I have several questions.

How long should you dunk your watch in ferric chloride to get better contrast?

What is the minimum safe wall thickness for a Damascus watch?

Will Timex and other cheap watch makers begin buying up all of the JABC guns in order to make Damascus watches for the masses?

Will we begin seeing street vendors in New York City selling fake Rolex watches with faux Damascus faces?

Guaranteed time accuracy twice a day only if used with battery removed.

It's a wind up model, Gil. Doncha' know, no proper British damascus watch would utilize electronic technology? Why, that'd be like putting piezo-electric ignition on a percussion Manton. blush

This is not uncommon. Didn't Purdey peddle Swiss-made Officine Pamerai in gold case some years back? They also sell clothing, cartridges, leather,..... with their name put on them. This damascus watch is only good to buy if money is no object though the movement seems unique caliber not some modification of ETA, Lemania,....

Those mechanicals with COSC certificate aren't that hopeless. Some years back I want to get some Jojoba and heavy book ends to local TJMax. I walked out with those and automatic wristwatch with Swiss chronometer movement. It was plorearian ETA 2824-2 yet it gave 24 hour gain of only 4 seconds. Never expected to see something like that there but the watch was new and price of less than $300 so I bought it. Some real good mechanicals like Patek can have gain of only 1 to 2 seconds per 24 hours.

I would have expected a side by side double watch with two time zones for that price.

The site suggests these may be Holland & Holland Damascus sample segments

Definitely a name in the pattern. Did my best to enhance. Any ideas?

And this might be either English machine-forged variegated Damascus, 2 rods or English machine-forged chequered Damascus, 2 rods; both listed in the Birmingham Proof House Report of 1891 and which I have never seen

The elusive British Damascus Rosetta Stone may be near completion!
