I know this is an old topic, but: does anyone have information on pressures generated by the commercial bismuth shells? I am wondering if they are okay for my Garbi (900 kg/cm) and Greener (3.5 tons).

Here is a response I got from them:

The chamber pressure for our 10-gauge, 2-7/8”, BGL107 loads is: 9,200 PSI



The chamber pressure for our 12-gauge, 2-1/2”, UGL125 loads is: 7,000 PSI



Neither of these loads is intended for use in shotguns having either Damascus or twist steel barrels, regardless of nitro-proof qualification.

These pressures are well within the SAAMI standards.

No company will approve use of their ammo in damascus or laminate barrels. That is a liability dodge, to save them from the moron who shoots a gun with a mud daubers nest in the tube, blows off the end of the barrel and injures himself in the process. Said moron, then wants to retire to a sunnier clime with a 2 million or so freebie gift so he sues. You know the story.
