I dunno. I'd have to see it to believe it. Would that up-rudder compensate for weight of engine and aircraft at 45 degrees? Would you open the canopy as quickly after that? I'd have the strength of a piece of wet Kleenex.

King, when I tore one up many years ago I was out the door and on a dead run before it even stopped. No way I was going to burn to death! I've looked at the video several times and guess I'm convinced it's real....if not, it's one heck of a good deception.

The biggest reason I think its a fake is the bounce when it hits the ground. It doesn't look correct to me.

Yeah, there's no momentum there, Mike--- a couple hops and stopped, too much like RC.
And, Joe, I got out a couple times before the dust started coming down but if I'd survived that I'd have been stuck to the seat.

O.K., after looking at it again and then going to Google for a search it appears to be a well done bogus event. Excellent editing. Here's a comment from a R/C forum I found:
"I know the pilot of this RC model. His name is Bill Hempel and his father
owns The Hobby Barn. If you ever did RC, then chances are good you ordered
from him at one time. I've known Billy since he was 10 and he's been flying
for at least 30 years. He started flying before he was 10. He is one of the
best RC pilots in the world and works for an agency that trains UAV pilots.
He can fly anything with and without wings. This video was shot at the local
RC field, about three miles from my house.

The giveaways to me that it's bogus are the short landing rollout, the white foam and two tube construction of the wingroot surface, and the quick/low inertia bounce.
I know the name "Bill Hempel" from a distant past. I may have met him at some RC event or just recognize the name from pubs. I'm thinking he held some national titles in RC aerobatics and/or Formula 1 racing or such.
