Gary, Welcome to the forum, sorry you missed Tulsa I understand it was (still is) great, some fine custom rifles changed hands. Hope to see more of you around here.

Sorry Wundhammer is not in the picture on this one, or King . This is one rifle or photo that I have not shared before.

It appears to me that the cutoff housing might resemble an Owen. Is it one of Bob"s?

At any rate if I had the where-with-all I would certainly buy it.

Lets see there was Meunier, Milhoan, Mielcarek, Minar or Moran and I’ve run out of “M’s”, so no.

Whenever I see one of those good looking low number 1903s for sale, I tell Michael .... I would not own one. Might take it to the range by accident.

Of interest is the long range Lyman 48, those early 48s had very long slides; I assume Lyman noted the 2000+ yard marks on the military sight and wanted to be sure to equal that.

I have one of those long slide Lyman 48s on my 1922 Springfield. Sighting in with standard velocity 22 ammunition at 200 yards only uses up 1/3 of the slide. I have been promising myself to try the 1922 at much longer ranges. Perhaps I will then be able to use the whole slide.

I jumped to quick. Terry B. was correct. Michael will vouch for me on this, I confessed earlier today. The "key" for me is the subtle "perch belly" that you can see in forearm, lower line. Griffin all the way, no doubt.

Waterman, If you will funnel all of the $800 dollar Springfields my way that you can find, I would forever be grateful. I manage the Texas Low Number Springfield Depository. Michael manages the Alaska branch.

Thanks to all for making me welcome here.
