Looks like Barry came home with one gun over the limit. His wife, suffering from PMS, took matters into her own hands! Maybe whopped Barry over the old noggin?

My contacts in the U.K.have told me that it is not unusual for purchasors of expensive guns to have the stock X-Ray examined for defects prior to purchase. It would also seem appropriate to carry out the same test on rough blanks prior to restocking.

Thanks for all the great comments. To continue: The triggerguard soon broke completely, having only been held together by the thickness of the blacking.

That even looks strange, looks like "white metal", or as they say in England aluminium.

It looks like one of those guns you give a young child to play with. Though from a wealthy patron. Chris

Lowell Glenthorne, Esquire. Has come close to the actual"Happening" Its a'Hartbreaking(plus stockbreaking)story. At this time I am waiting for a reply from the Client. I would like his OK.as to my showing the full story. I feel Mr Boss in London maynot care for some of the Opinions passed on the Quality of the Stock-Blank used on this'Absolutely First Class, Hand Built 28bore. I can assure those who maybe interested, It IS" a first-class Stock-Blank. It mabe of interest, to those who are interested in this sort of "STUFF" this site, Boss&Co Gunmakers Ltd. Has the current price's(Nearly as much as the Italian Masterpieces that are being Repaired here on me Workbench)This is all Barry Lee's doing by the way!!!!Crossed Chisles.

crossedchisels, it may be a "first class" stock blank, but like I stated in the an earlier post, "Something isn't right about the wood", especially in the area of the breaks. There should be some crisp, sharp edges to the breaks, here there is none.
