A gentleman has a Parker for sale where some of the wood inside the butt stock had been removed around the trigger area while weakening the stock. I'm almost positive this is the case because the wood at the tang area at the head of the stock can be seperated from the tang itself by about 1/8" by appling lateral pressure. If the butt stock were to be removed and the inside filled with acraglass, would it be possible to inlet the acraglass once cured and fit the butt to the receiver just as if it were done from a blank of wood, and still be safe? Thanks in advance.

Fixable, most likely, but not the way you described. The head needs to be degreased and the a staple is usually inlet and the whole works gets glass bedded. Steve

Thanks SKB. The reason I mentioned starting over using a solid chunk of acraglass is that I think wood was removed inside the trigger area causing the head of the butt to give way while appling lateral pressure. Origionally this double gun had two triggers and someone converted it to a single mechanical trigger, the two slots on the floorplate are still there. ?

May I suggest a better solution than acraglass? David Trevallion wrote in Technicana about using another piece of wood inletted and glued into the area and then re-inletting metal in new wood. As mentioned before, all of the oil must be removed from the head so that glue will adhere to the wood permanently.
