As with most things in life, there is no free lunch regarding gunstock duplication. Some very good advice from KY. As of now, the acknowledged best machine is the Hoenig. That said, as Dennis pointed out so well, a poor operator can mess up a nice stick of wood on even the best machine.
I personally know D'Arcy Echols to be amoung the best operators with a Hoenig. He charges about $500 for two-piece semi-inletted blank right off the machine, and in my experience, you get what you pay for.
The problem then becomes one of finding someone reputable to finish the job and that's where the real money comes in.
