I am looking for re-loadable 16 ga pinfire shot shells. someone told me that he saw some new manufacture plastic pinfire cases at a gun show. he thought they were of french or belgian manufacture. has anyone heard of these or know where to acquire them?

This company in England certainly stock and sell pin-fire shotgun cases made from brass which are reloadable many times. I had a look through their on-line catalogue but couldn't see them. They are listed in their printed catalogue. Worth e-mailing them maybe. Lagopus..... http://www.henrykrank.com/index.html

There was an article in the past couple of years in one of the big double gun magazines about how to make pinfire shells out of regular cases. I can't for the life of me remember where I read it though.

That's just fascinating Craigster.
I might mention that the estimable Ross Seyfried wrote an article on making pinfire shells out of regular shotshells in a past issue of Blackpowder Hunting, now defunct.

thanks! i saw this kit about a year ago when i started looking for pinfire solutions. at the time it seemed a little pricey so i started looking for alternatives. at this point i may go this route.

i also sent e-mail to henry krank and company in england who replied that they don't sell pinfire items any more.

I read the same article that Destry refers to, believe it was in Shooting Sportsman a couple of years ago. If I get a chance I will check it out and post unless someone else posts.

If you go down the remanufactured shotshell route please note that the head and rim are totally different to from regular shotshells. You will need to recut the pinfire breech to regular shotshell dimensions. Or reform the shells to suit pinfire dimensions. The percussion cap adaptor is modified to fill in the hole vacated by the standard primer.Pinfire cartridges can be a pain in the *$$ to transport safely whilst hunting. But danger is part of the joy?????

I was aware of the rim dimension problem and would probably avoid remanufacturing for that reason alone.
