Hello guys I am new to this form and need some info on a gunsmith Fred Dewie that worked for the Hollenbeck gun Co. 1900-1910. I talked to Al Louis that wrote in the DGJ spring 2006. Al was a friend of Mr Dewie and had one of his guns that he personal maid after the firm closed and sold it about ten years ago to a man that was 85 then so I am guessing hes son has it now. The drilling will have no name of Hollenbeck ,Three barrels gun co., or Royal gun co. on it. I anyone knows of this gun please please let me now it is a shot in the dark but I have no where else to turn the probley is a 16X16X 25-25 maybe. I did a two-part article on the Hollenbeck/Three-Barrel/Royal Gun Companies in The Double Gun Journal, Volume Thirteen, Issues 2 and 3, Summer and Autumn 2002.

There seem to be quite a few nameless three-barrel guns around that workers, etc. took in lieu of pay, or finished up on their own. Gun number 1746, a 12x12x.32-40 shown in my article is such a gun.

Donnie, I think I saw this gun at the 2009 Jan. show in Vegas. It had no address or names on it, but had a serial no. of 509 or close. It was high condition and engraved like a Grade 2 or 3 with the typical funny looking bear, etc. I think the fellow that had it was asking $6000 and I think, but am not sure , that the table was to the customer's right of the Remington Arms table.
