The ones I'm unhappy with are 16ga fit to a 20ga repro. I hope everyone has better luck with the .410s.

So no one knows if I can shoot 45 LC's through my .410 barrels?

As I posted earlier, it was not uncommon for factory fitted 16 gauge barrels to be a terrible fit. Of course, at some point, Skeuse subcontracted these jobs. Maybe they always subcontracted gunsmithing, I don't know. I talked to the fellow who consigned a poorly fitted 16/20 set to a shop where I was employed. According to him, he may still own the gun. It was cheap and I still couldn't get interested.

Gregsy, they'll probably fit and they'll probably shoot...Lord only knows what will happen after that, depends on your gun. NOBODY around here is going to recommend you TRY IT...Geo

1) Sorry if I have not been clear.
2) I'm not trying to crap on Galazan.

What I was trying to communicate was this... I bought an after-market, 16ga barrel set "custom fitted" to my 20ga Repro. from Galazan about 18 months ago. Not from Skeuse and not fitted to an original Parker. They are essentially what is being offered now in other gauges. Mine are a horrible fit, Galazan would not fix them or take them back, I wasted $1800, others who are contemplating a similar purchase should make sure they can get a refund if not happy prior to purchase - that's all. I'll stop now. Not wanting to be a complainer, just hoping others don't waste a bunch of money like I did.

Relating your experience is a service to the board, Mr. Parker. Thank you.

I stand by my advice. If a trip to New Britain is not convenient, maybe CSMC can be convinced to cart a few of these barrel sets to shoots and shows where they exhibit for us to examine and try on our guns.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with the 16ga re-pro barrels. My experience has been just the opposite. My CSMC barrels are very well made and fit my gun as well as the original barrels do.

I fit them myself and if there is one thing I would do over if I could. I would have had Galazans do the fitting. At the time I ordered mine they were offering to fit them for $200.00 and I cheaped out. I don't know if they are offering the fitting service this time or not. I know if I was going to purchase a set of the current offerings I'd ask the question and pop for the couple hundred to have CSMC fit them.

re: trying several sets before you buy....that's great if CSMC produces a bunch of spare sets on speculation. They might well do that, but their website simply states 'order them if you want them'. I'd hate to plan to own a set come September only find that if you didn't order a set by August you are SOL.
